Welcome to BASCONNECTTM, commonly referred to simply as Connect. It is a platform consisting Connect, a platform consisting of multiple applications used for managing elements related to medical billing.

The Help Documentation guides you through using Connect via topics which provide:

  • Page, window, and field definitions
  • Step-by-step guides for common system processes
  • Links to helpful training videos and support documentation
  • Access to current and past release notes

 

NoteConnect Help is currently under construction. Additional topics are forthcoming and will be added to the site as they are written.



Tip

The latest BASCONNECTTM latest Connect release is 1824.2.12. Highlights of this release include the following:

Accounts

  • Modified roll-to process to allow:
    • Changing responsibility for multiple non-zero balance service fees at one time
    • Rolling a service fee to a guarantor even if the service contains an insurance plan set to disallow guarantor responsibility
  • Added Refund note type to Account / Notes tab to create and view refund notes.

Audit Trail

  • Added new Audit Trail functionality to track changes and updates to Security topics: Roles, Users, and Password Policy.

Claims

  • Increased the character limit in Box 31 of NUCC 1500 paper claim form to allow 24 characters.
  • Modified electronic claim generation to eliminate claim rejections for invalid EDI characters.

Denial Management

  • Modified functionality to allow updates to some fields on system denial codes, including: Roll To, Adjustment, Writeoff.

Payment Batches

  • Added ability to select a new Responsible Party for a service fee line when performing an insurance recoup.

Practices

  • New Statement Hold Removal section added to the Practice / Statements tab to automate statement hold removal for zero balance service fees.

Pre-Collections / Transworld

  • All "Transworld" labels (fields, buttons, pages) in Connect have been updated to "Pre-Collections."

Reports

  • Added Find Report tab to search for and locate a report which includes specific criteria.
  • Created several new reports:
    • Account Note Detail
    • Case Analysis Detail 
    • Claim Activity Detail
    • External Collection Analysis Detail
    • External Collection Payment Detail

Roles

  • Added new Case - Exclude from Concurrency right to Back Office Roles to give update permission to specific users of the Excuse from Concurrency Checking checkbox on a case.
  • Modified permissions on Fee Schedules, so a user with Update access can recalculate expected fee schedules.

Statements

  • Added the ability to automatically generate statements for practices configured for DMA.

Support Links

  • Added Inactivate Account checkbox to the Account / General tab to set accounts to inactive in Back Office.
  • Fixed issue causing a paper clip icon to display after selecting a SVCFE, IPYMT, or GPYMT line item and errantly clicking View Attachment. The icon will only display if there is an attachment associated with the line.

Charge Batches

  • Updated the Charge Batch / Charge Batch Information / Cases table:
    • Added Place of Service, DOB, Eligibility Submitted fields
    • Updated Status field header to Case Status
  • Moved the Related Person section from the Case / Patient, Guarantor & Insurance tab to the Case / Additional Case Information tab.
  • Removed the Code and ASA fields from the Case / Patient, Guarantor & Insurance / Paperwork Attachments section.
  • Removed the Procedures grid table from the Create Paperwork Attachment window.

Code Updates

  • Added 2024 Q1 code updates:
    • WPC Remittance Advice Remark Codes

ERAs

  • Updated Claim field on the Resolve Payments page (in coordination with Importing ERA process) to allow for resizing and viewing the entire claim number.

  • Updated the Help > Health Dashboard with current configuration requirements / recommendations:

  • Updated logic to remove the A7 for secondary claims generated for Non-Medicare primary plans for Arizona Medicaid.

Practices

  • Removed the Front Office section from the Practice / Miscellaneous tab.
  • Added new Provider Name filter to the top of the Practice / Affiliated Providers tab.
  • Fixed issue when maximizing or minimizing the Practice tab, the Save, Close, and Apply buttons disappear.
  • Updated the following default values on the Practice / Statements tab:

Print Options Pane

  • Only Use Remittance Address on Statements [checked]
  • Office Hours field pre-filled with: 8AM-5PM MONDAY-FRIDAY

Statement Hold Removal Pane

  • Remove account statement hold when balance reaches zero [checked]
  • Remove service line statement hold when balance reaches zero [checked]

Pseudo Code Mappings

  • Updated logic for creating, mapping, and billing ASA pseudo codes with a Type of Service Code - 7. 

Reports

  • Updated the Financial Activity Summary – Payments to Line Items Detail report:
    • Added fields: Referring Provider NPI, Rendering Provider NPI
  • Updated the Facility Detail report:
    • Added Place of Service field
  • Updated the Account Adjustment Analysis Detail report:
    • Added Facility Case ID, Case Reporting Type, Billed Amount, Balance fields
