  • Use sorting to view items in a report in a preferred ascending/descending order. 
  • Resize columns to expand or contract them.
  • Reorder columns to view the information presented in the report in a different order.
  • Show or hide the columns and fields displayed in a portal report.

 

Custom display changes made to a portal report are retained when the report is saved. The changes are applied the next time the saved report is executed.

 

 


 


 

Sorting Columns

The sort indicator is a visual aid that indicates how a list is sorted. The sort indicator appears at the top of a column heading. The arrow indicates the order in which the report is sorted, ascending or descending.  

To sort a list by a particular column, click the column header. A sort indicator is displayed:

The list is sorted in ascending order.

The list is sorted in descending order.

Click the arrow to switch between ascending/descending sort order.

 

Alternately, the columns can be sorted via the "Customize" options.

Click the found in the column you'd like to sort by. The customize options display:

Resizing Columns

To size a column width:

Click the right border of the column you want to resize. The cursor changes to the following image:

Move the column to the left or to the right. The column width is resized.

If the contents of a cell are longer than the column width, the text will be truncated with an ellipsis (...) to indicate the cell contains more text than what is currently being displayed in the cell. 

 


 

Reordering Columns

To rearrange the column order:

Click and drag the column to the left or to the right.

Release the mouse when the column is moved to the location you want.

The new column arrangement is retained while the current user is logged in. The next time the user logs in, the columns return to their original positions.

If a report is saved with reordered columns, the column order is retained in the saved report.

Showing or Hiding Columns

Click the found in any column. The customize options display:

Click Columns. A list of the available columns for that report is displayed.

The list of available fields varies depending on the report being executed.
