The Collections page allows you to monitor guarantor accounts flagged as internal collections by guarantor or insurance responsibility.

Internal collections is an automated process based on rules defined in Collections Admin. Collection rules for guarantor and insurance collections determine when a guarantor account goes from active to collection status. Past due accounts are automatically transferred to internal collections based on these rules. Collection rules also determine the internal collector / collector group to which the account is automatically assigned. Once an account is in collection status, it will remain there until the outstanding balance goes to zero.

If you wish to keep an account from being transferred to collections (pre-collector, guarantor, or insurance collections), go to the Act: [ID] / General tab and choose an option in the Collection Holds section.

Use collection tasks to manage the internal collection efforts on accounts in either insurance or guarantor financial responsibility. The key to the collection process is setting up future actions and their schedules. Through collection tasks, you can assign new task actions by insurance and guarantor, print and re-print demand letters, automate task processing by insurance and guarantor, and reassign collection tasks in mass.

The Collections page has two tabs: Guarantor and InsuranceThese tabs contain the list of specified guarantor accounts that have active collection tasks. Tasks in the Insurance Queue are at a service line level, while tasks in the Guarantor Queue are at an account level. When the account balance goes to zero, the collection task is no longer displayed. Use these tabs to create actions and to monitor the collections activity on past due accounts in guarantor or insurance responsibility that have been transferred to internal collections.

These tabs are controlled by user permissions and determine which tab is displayed. If you have permissions to collection tasks, either Guarantor, Insurance, or both tabs are viewable. If you do not have permissions to these tabs, you will not see the applicable tab. For example, suppose you are responsible for managing the insurance collection efforts, but not guarantor collections, you will only see the Insurance tab.

Collection efforts on a particular guarantor account can be monitored on the Collections tab of the Act: [ID] page for that account.
