Use this task to specify which practice and the date range for the date of service of cases that you want to include in the XML file for transmitting to Anesthesia Quality Institute (AQI). Use the AQI Reports page to complete this task.

Typically, this file is exported monthly based on the accounting date or based on the days of the month. If you do not use accounting dates, export the file from the first of the month to the last day of the month to avoid sending duplicate data.

To include all cases for an accounting period, always export the XML file before locking out the accounting period.

To ensure that only the cases in that accounting period are exported, lockout the current accounting period immediately after exporting the XML file.

To lockout the accounting period, go to the General Practice Information tab of the practice and change the Active Date.

From the AQI Reports page, select the practice for the cases you want to include in the XML file.

Click Export. The Search Criteria window opens.

Prior to exporting, you can sort the table by the column headings in ascending or descending order. By default, the table is sorted by the Practice column.
  • To sort the list, click on the column heading you want to sort by. The sort indicator (ascending/descending) appears as a visual aide to indicate the sort order.

  • To remove the sort, click on the column heading until the sort indicator no longer appears.

The columns can be resized and reordered according to how you want to see the data.

Enter the beginning date of the period in the first Date of Service field.

When running the report for a specified period:

  • The first date is the beginning date of the period and the To date is the end date of the period. 
  • For example, 08-01-2014 to 08-31-2014. All cases with a date of service within the specified date range are included in the XML file.
You may also click the drop down arrow in the date fields to open the calendar control and select a date.
4To filter the AQI report to only include a specific facility/facilities, select the facility from the list.

The Facility list is only enabled if you are using AQI XML Version: 2019 Version 1 (or later) for the selected practice. The version can be updated via the Practice / Miscellaneous tab.

5(Optional) Select the Overwrite data in file checkbox to override the current report data.

If Overwrite data in file option is not selected when rerunning the export, a duplicate file is created.

6Click OK. The Save As dialog box appears. By default, the name of the XML file is [practice] [begin date].xml. 
7Specify where you want to save the XML file, then click Save. The XML file is created and saved in the specified location. 
8Transmit the XML file to AQI for evaluation.

The exported file should following the naming convention:

  • Practice Name_ID#[PracticeID]_BeginDate_EndDate.xml

For example: XYZ Anesthesia_ID#123_20160301_20160331.xml
