Inputting Data Guidelines

  • Use either uppercase or lowercase letters consistently.

    If using uppercase letters is preferred, consider selecting the Force all typing to Uppercase option from the Preferences > General tab.
  • Do not use special characters other than letters A through Z, and numbers 0 through 9. Spaces are allowed.

  • Use 10-digits for telephone numbers.

  • Do not use dashes between values.

  • Unless otherwise specified, use positive, whole numbers.

Keyboard Tips

  • Press [Tab] to advance from option to option or field to field.

  • Press [Enter] to accept data input. However, pressing [Enter] does not save the data. The Apply or Save button must be clicked to permanently save data.

  • Utilize arrow keys [↓] or [↑] to scroll through a list.

  • Utilize arrow keys [→] or [←] to scroll through tabs.

Function Keys

F1 - Open Help

  • Press [F1] to access the online help associated with your current page, tab, or window location in Connect.

F12 - Take Screenshot

  • Press [F12] to take a screenshot of the currently displayed page/window.

Exporting Data

  • Pressing [CTRL]+[SHIFT]+[X] exports any grid in the Connect platform as an Excel file.
  • Pressing [CTRL]+[SHIFT]+[C] exports any grid in the Connect platform as a CSV file.



Closing Multiple Tabs

If you have multiple tabs open at the top of your Connect screen, right-click on any one of the open tabs and select an option to quickly close the selected option: 

Date Entry

In any date field, type to quickly enter the current day's date.

In any calendar field, press [Alt]+[T] to populate the field with the current day's date.

In any calendar field, press [Alt]+[N] to populate the clear any date information from the field.
