Function Keys
Function keys utilize the F keys along the top of the keyboard.
The following commands are available in Connect applications:
Function Keys | Description |
---|---|
F1 | Opens the applicable Help doc (if available) for the selected page/tab/window. For example, if the Accounts page is selected (click inside the Accounts page), pressing the [F1] key opens a Help web browser page titled, "Accounts Page." |
F4 | Opens a selection list. |
F5 | Refreshes search results in several tables (Charge/Payment Batches, Collections, etc.). This allows you to run a search, modify search result items in such a way that it no longer meets the last search criteria, refresh, and omit the modified item from the refreshed search results. |
F12 | Opens the Print window (for taking screen shots). |
Arrow Keys
Use the arrow keys, which is a collective term for the Up, Down, Left, and Right arrow keys, to move in the direction of the key. These keys are used to navigate between tabs and expand selection lists.
Arrow Key | Description |

[↑] | Move up to the previous item in a list.

[↓] | Moves down to the next item in a list.

[←] | Moves left to the previous element. |
[→] | Moves right to the next element. |
Other
To find an open Connect application window using Microsoft Windows' "Aero Flip 3-D" function, use [Windows Icon Key] + [Tab].
To enter the current date, type T in any date field. The field is automatically populated with the current date.
Shortcut Keys for Calendars
These commands apply to all Calendars in Connect:
Button | Shortcut Keys | Description |

Today | [Alt]+[T] | Fills the date field with Today's date. |
None | [Alt]+[N] | Clears the selected date field. |
To Always Display Shortcut Keys Underlined:
- Windows Vista / Windows 7:
Start → Control Panel → Ease of Access Center → Make the keyboard easier to use → select the Underline keyboard shortcuts and access keys checkbox → click OK.
- Windows XP:
Start → Control Panel → Display Properties → Appearance tab → click Effects → uncheck the Hide underlined letters for keyboard navigation until I press the Alt key checkbox → click OK.
- Windows 10:
Start → Settings → click Ease of Access → select Keyboard from the left panel → under Change how keyboard shortcuts work, turn On Underline access keys when available.
