Overview

The Procedure Categories page is used to add, update, or delete procedure categories. It is divided into the following sections:

  • Procedure Categories

  • Procedure Codes

Procedure Categories is an alphabetical list of the procedure categories provided in the Connect platform and the custom procedure categories you define. Each procedure category is identified by the System Category. When a procedure category is selected, the procedures associated with the procedure category are listed in the Procedure Codes section.

How to Get Here?

From the Home Page:From the Menus:
  • Click Procedure Categories from the Admin list 
  • Open the Admin menu and select Procedure Categories

System Category Read-onlyYesThe designation of a procedure category as system or user-defined. If Yes, the procedure category is system-defined. If No, the procedure category is user-defined.
Procedure Codes Section

YesThe five-digit code that identifies the procedure code.
Year

YesThe year in which the code was released by the American Medical Association (AMA).

Updating Procedure Categories

Delete [Alt] + [D] 

Removes the procedure category from the master list. Only custom procedure categories can be deleted and not the ones provided in the Connect platform. If deleted, the procedure category is no longer listed in the Type list of the import function in General Procedures.
