The Address Corrections page includes the Pending and History tabs for managing Address Corrections from an imported DMA address update file. This file can be in either the NCOA or ACS format.

Address corrections can be processed automatically or manually. Address corrections are listed in the Corrections section or the Errors section on either the Pending or History tabs.

  • Automatically-processed address corrections are listed on the History tab. For the automated process, the practice must be configured with DMA Address Correction on the Practice > Statements tab.
  • Manually processed address corrections are listed on the Pending tab.

The automated process posts the address corrections directly to the History tab as Approved or Denied. An Approved status indicates the address correction was posted without errors (missing data) and the account was updated with the new address information. A Denied status indicates the address correction was denied because of missing data or manually denied. The address correction is listed in the Corrections section with a Denied status and in the Errors section. The account is not updated with the address correction.

The manual process posts the address corrections to the Pending tab where it must be manually processed as Approved, Denied, or Acknowledged. An address correction can be approved with or without errors (missing data), for example, no state or no city. The approved address correction without errors is posted to the History tab with an Approved status, and the account is updated with the new address information. The approved address correction with errors is posted to the History tab with a Denied status and to the Errors section on the Pending tab. An address correction with errors must be acknowledged before it can be posted to the History tab. The account is not updated with the new address information.
