Complete this task to find refund transactions. 

You can search by account, refund check number, amount, payee, status and date, and transaction status. The more filters you use, the more specific search results are returned. By default, refund transactions are filtered by Status of All and the Last 180 Days. The default Date search criteria can be set by going to File > Preferences > Refund

Practice is a required search criteria option. Choose the practice associated with the refund transaction, then choose a search method below:

To find refund transactions by account:

From the Refunds page, click Search. The Search Criteria window opens.

Enter the Account ID for the account you want to find.

Do one or more of the following:

  • To accept the default filters for Status and Date, go to the next step.
  • To change the status from all, click the applicable status.
  • To change the date interval, click another interval or specify the date range.

Click OK. The Refunds page refreshes with the refund transactions that match the search criteria.


To find refund transactions by refund check:

From the Refunds page, click Search. The Search Criteria window opens.

Do one or more of the following:

  • To find a refund transaction by the check number, enter the Check Number.
  • To find a refund transaction by amount, enter the Amount.
  • To find a refund transaction by the payee, enter the name of the company or person to whom the check was issued in the Payee field.

Do one or more of the following:

  • To accept the default filters for Status and Date, go to the next step.
  • To change the status from all, click the applicable status.
  • To change the date interval, click another interval or specify the date range.

Click OK. The Refunds page refreshes with the refund transactions that match the search criteria.


To find refund transactions by status and date:

Do one or more of the following:

  • To find all refund transactions for the last 180 days, go to the next step.
  • To find refund transactions by a specific status, click the applicable status: Pending, Posted, Denied, or Reversed.
  • To find refund transactions by a specific date interval, click the applicable interval or date range in the spaces provided.

Click OK. The Refunds page refreshes with the refund transactions that match the search criteria.


To find refund transactions by originating user:

  • To accept the default filters for Status and Date, go to the next step.
  • To change the status from all, click the applicable status.
  • To change the date interval from 180 days, click another interval or specify the date range.

Do one or more of the following:

  • To find refund transactions by the person who created the refund transaction, enter the Last Name, First Name, or both in the spaces provided.
  • To find refund transactions by the person who posted the refund transaction, enter the Last Name, First Name, or both in the spaces provided.
  • To find refund transactions by the person who denied the refund transaction, enter the Last Name, First Name, or both in the spaces provided.
  • To find refund transactions by the person who reversed the refund transaction, enter the Last Name, First Name, or both in the spaces provided.

Click OK. The Refunds page refreshes with the refund transactions that match the search criteria.
