The Charge Batch tab is used to set user preferences at the charge batch for search criteria and generating the Submission report.

User preferences can be overridden at the charge batch, but will remain will remain in effect for this workstation until it is changed in Preferences. Anyone who logs onto this workstation will use these preferences as the default values.

From the Menus:Via Shortcut Keys: 
  1. Open the File menu and select Preferences.
  2. Select Charge Batch from the left pane list of preferences.
  1. Press [Alt] + [F] + [R].
  2. Select Charge Batch from the left pane list of preferences.

Batches Search Criteria Section   
CreatedDrop DownYesThe required time frame a charge batch was created in. Options are from Today to Older than a Year.
Practice Drop DownYesSpecifies in which practice to search. By default, this option is set to All.
Only include batches with cases on hold CheckboxNo

If checked, filters charge batches by cases on hold. To find only those charge batches that have cases on hold, check this box.

To find all cases regardless of the status, leave this checkbox blank. 

Only include batches with unsubmitted cases CheckboxNo

If checked, filters charge batches by cases with an unsubmitted status. To find only those charge batches that have unsubmitted cases, click this checkbox.

To find all cases regardless of the status, leave this checkbox blank.

Cases Search Criteria Section   

Determines the default search criteria for the Charge Batches page > Cases tab > Search Criteria window.

DOS Drop DownYesThe time frame for the cases' date of service. Options are from Today to Older than a Year.
Practice Drop DownYesSpecifies in which practice to search. By default, this option is set to All.
Include Reversed Cases CheckboxNoIf selected, reversed cases are included in the search results.
EDC Search Criteria Section   

Determines the default search criteria for the Charge Batches page > EDC Files tab > Search Criteria window.

Created/DOS/Admit Radio Selection

Specifies which date format is searched by default for an EDC search.
Show Processed RecordsCheckbox NoIf selected, processed records are included in the search results.
Submit Charge Batch Section    Show Submission Report CheckboxNo


Determines whether the Submission report is generated when submitting charge batches for claim generation. The Submission report shows the cases that were submitted. The option is selected by default.Preview Submission CheckboxNo

If selected, the Submission report automatically opens in a preview window after it is generated.

Note

If you select Preview Submission in Preferences, the The Preview Submission window will appear each time you attempt to submit (as the preference continues to default to that setting). To actually send out claims, you must uncheck the Preview Submission option in Preferences prior to submitting the claim(s).
