Overview

The Refunds page shows a list of refund transactions from which you can review the original transaction that created the refund or post the refund transaction. It displays all transactions that have been refunded.

  • Click Refunds from the Manage list.
  • Open the Manage menu and select Reports.
  • Press [Alt] + [M] + [R].

Search[Alt] + [S]

Opens the Search Criteria window for specifying criteria for finding refund transactions.

Finding Refund Transactions
View Trans[Alt] + [V]

Opens the page or tab where the transaction originated so that you can see the transaction detail, for example, to the Active AR tab of the guarantor account, to the Suspense page, to the Refunds page, or to the Payment: ID tab for an insurance payment (IPYMT).

  1. Select the transaction to view.
  2. Click View Trans. The associated page or tab opens.
Print Trans[Alt] + [T]

Generates the Refunds Transaction report and shows it in a preview window.

One or more refund transactions can be selected from the list. To select more than one refund transaction, hold down the CTRL key.
  1. Select the transaction(s) to print.
  2. Click Print Trans. The Refunds Transaction Report opens.
  3. Print or save or navigate through the preview report with the navigation icons found at the top of the report.
Print[Alt] + [R]

If the practice is configured to print refund checks, the Print button is displayed.

Printing Refund Checks

Reprint[Alt] + [I]Opens the Print window in read-only mode to that you can reprint the refund check.
  1. Select the refund transaction to reprint.
  2. Click Refund Transaction. Note: The refund transaction must have a Posted status.
  3. Click Reprint. The Print window opens in read-only mode.
  4. If the check being reprinted includes multiple refund transactions for the same payee, select the Roll up multiple transactions to same payee on one checkbox.
  5. Click Print.
Post[Alt] + [P]Open the Post Refund window from which you can specify the check number and accounting date.Posting Refunds
Deny[Alt] + [D]Opens the Deny Refund window where you can specify the reason the refund transaction is being denied. If the refund from Suspense is denied, the original transaction remains in the pending state.
  1. Select the refund transaction(s) to deny.

    To select more than one line item, hold the CTRL key down and proceed to select all refunds to deny.
  2. Click Deny. The Deny Refund window opens.
  3. Enter the Reason for denying the refund.
  4. Click OK. The Performed By and Performed At columns are updated with the appropriate information.
If the refund transaction originated from an insurance or guarantor payment, the transaction in the Active AR tab is updated with the appropriate markings for denial. For all other refund transactions, the originating transaction remains in a pending state.
Reverse[Alt] + [R]Opens the Reverse Refund window where you can specify the accounting date, if applicable, and reason the refund transaction is being reversed.
  1. Select the refund transaction to reverse.
  2. Click Reverse. The Reverse Refund window opens.
  3. Enter the Accounting Date.
  4. Enter the Description, or reason for the reversal.
  5. Click OK. The refund transaction is reversed.
