Overview

The Messages page is used to manage messages in Connect. Messages assigned to you can be viewed from this page. In addition, the page is used to create and send messages to other users.

Unread messages display in bold text.
Read messages display in normal text.
Past due messages display in red text.

How to Get Here?

To open the Messages page:

From the Menus:
  • Open the File menu and select Messages.

  • Message section populated for the message selected at the top of the page.
NoThe content or text associated and being communicated with the message. This field is blank for system generated report messages.

Step-By-Step Guides

Search[Alt] + [S]To search for a message(s) in the list.
  1. Click Search.
  2. The Search Criteria window opens.
  3. Enter the search criteria.
  4. Click OK.
Create[Alt] + [C]To create a new message.
  1. Click Create.
  2. The Message window opens.
  3. Open the To drop down list and select the message recipient(s).
  4. Enter a Subject for the message.
  5. (Optional) If the message pertains to assigning a task, select the Task checkbox.
  6. (Optional) If the Task option is selected, the Due Date field is enabled and a date must be entered.
  7. Enter the Message text.
  8. Click Save.
Update[Alt] + [U]To modify an existing message.
  1. Select the message you want to update.
  2. Click Update.
  3. The Message window opens.
  4. (Optional) If the message pertains to assigning a task, you can select/deselect the Task checkbox.
  5. (Optional) If the Task option is selected, the Due Date field is enabled and may be updated.
  6. Click Save.
Reply[Alt] + [R]To send a reply to a message.
  1. Select the message to which you want to reply.
  2. Click Reply.
  3. The Message window opens.
  4. (Optional) Open the To drop down list and select the message recipient(s).

    The field will default to the user that sent you the original message. You can change it or add additional recipients.

  5. (Optional) If the message pertains to assigning a task, you can select/deselect the Task checkbox.
  6. (Optional) If the Task option is selected, the Due Date field is enabled and may be updated.
  7. Click Save.
Archive[Alt] + [A]To archive message(s).
  1. Select the message to archive.

  2. Click Archive. The message is removed from the list of Messages.

    Archived messages can be used by searching for messages via Search button and marking the Archived checkbox in your search criteria.

View Report[Alt] + [V]To open the generated report.
  1. Select the message associated with a report. HINT: The Report column is designated with "Yes" for messages associated with a report.

  2. Click View Report. The report associated with the message is displayed.
