Complete this task to post all or one or more pending external collection transactions, which are service fee lines of guarantor accounts that are queued for transfer from active AR to external collections.

Pending external collection transactions are listed on the Pending tab where they remain there until the transfer is denied or posted. Posting is the approval process that transfers service fee lines that are pending transfer from active AR to external collections. Upon posting, the balance of the service fee line in active AR goes to zero. The balance of the external collection transaction becomes the amount of the outstanding balance transferred to external collections. The posting transaction is recorded as the EXCOL activity code on the external collection transaction in external collections and on the service fee line of the guarantor account in active AR.

Pending external collection transactions are posted by external collection agency and by accounting date if the practice is configured for accounting dates. If your practice is not configured for accounting dates, you will not see this option on the Post External Collections Transactions window.
