Account lockout duration (minutes): ___Free Text (numerical)NoDefines the amount of time a user is locked out after entering the password incorrectly X number of times, as designated in the Account lockout threshold: ___ invalid logon attempts.
Account lockout threshold: ___ invalid logon attemptsFree Text (numerical)NoSets the number of failed login attempts that once met, locks the user out of their account.
Reset account lockout counter after: ___ minutesFree Text (numerical)No*

Defines the amount of time in which failed login attempts are counted. If the user has a failed login attempt, the timer begins, as does the count. If the user hits the number of allowed failed attempts, they are locked out. The login attempts count restarts after the reset account lockout counter time has been met.

Note

For example:

  • The invalid logon attempts is set to 3.
  • The reset lockout counter is set to 15 minutes.

A user has an invalid login attempt and the timer begins. (Attempt #1)

10 minutes later, the user has a second failed login attempt. (Attempt #2)

Another 10 minutes later, 20 minutes after the initial attempt, the user has a third failed login attempt, but the timer restarted at the 15 minute mark, so they are not locked out.

The user is only locked out if 3 failed attempts occur within the defined 15 minutes.

*This field cannot be null if the Account lockout threshold and Account lockout duration fields are populated.

Disable account after ___ days of inactivityFree Text (numerical)NoDefines the number of days of inactivity before the account is deactivated.
